How The System Works
Solar PV panels generate electricity when exposed to sunlight. This electricity is in the form of Direct current(DC). The charge controller controls the amount of Electricity going to batteries and will protect the batteries from over charge. Charge controller will be equipped with sensors to automate the switch on/off process.
Advantages
- Easy installation and low maintenance
- Cost effective
- Will save on wiring cost and can light up areas where electricity is not available
Disadvantages
- Not practical for higher wattage lighting
- Since batteries are involved periodic maintenance is required
